Whilst I practice in all areas of hypnotherapy I have a particular passion for work in these areas. As tends to happen this passion comes from personal experience and knowing first hand the benefits that hypnotherapy can bring to those who are "having trouble" conceiving.
My work extends from getting pregnant, to achieving a happy, relaxed pregnancy and onwards to having the birth that YOU want, the arrival of a healthy baby and coping with this new addition and the changes he or she will bring. I also work with children (and parents!) knowing the benefits that this will provide for our future generations (children generally love hypnosis being very imaginative and enjoying the metaphors I use just for them!)
Whilst my sessions are generally one to one, in this area you may find it beneficial for your partner to be included, and certainly prior to childbirth this is recommended for the birthing partner.
If you are part of an antenatal group who would like to come and see me together please give me a call, I am very happy to do sessions for small groups on request.
Sessions for children will initially always consist of the initial consultation with one or both parents prior to my seeing the child.
My work in the area of birthing is probably slightly different from many hypnotherapists. Whilst I am trained in and work with many aspects of hypnobirthing, my own experiences tell me that this is a time when it is so important to explore what you want from your birthing experience. Therefore the focus is not the experience of natural childbirth unless you want it to be. The focus as with all aspects of my work is what you the client bring to me. We are all different and the solutions you come up with for your life will be driven by you.
The journey from the moment you decide that you would like a child is one that is full of uncertainty and new experiences, challenges and change, this on top of many of the every day stresses we are under can sometimes lead our levels of anxiety to increase and we may find it difficult to think clearly and make the many decisions that we are called upon to make during this period.
